Micky Finn's Announces New Private Label Product - Wild Atlantic Irish Whiskey

From its massive liquor collection, Barrel Pick Programs, Rewards Club, and party services to its adjacent large Beer and wine selection, Micky Finn’s is by far the leader in the Pee Dee area when it comes to the liquor business. But the local industry leader isn’t content with stopping at large inventories, Barrel Picks, or new products, however. The store is continuing to expand its horizons by introducing Micky Finn’s’ own private label products. From Jacks & Dillon vodka to Noelia’s Coquito, Micky Finn’s has been gradually adding to the list of private label products. These brands are all exclusive to Micky Finn’s and can’t be found anywhere else. This week, Micky Finn’s is announcing yet another private label taking its place on the shelf – Wild Atlantic Irish Whiskey. There are two versions of Wild Atlantic: IPA Barrel and Rechar Barrel. Wild Atlantic IPA Barrel is a blend of Grain Irish Whiskey matured in an ex-Bourbon Barrel and Malt Irish Whiskey matured in an ex-IPA beer oak barrel. Notably, Wild Atlantic IPA Barrel won Double Gold in the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Wild Atlantic IPA Barrel is 80 proof with a deep, golden brown color. It has a nose of intense fruit aromas such as red and green apple, light aromas, and a sweet combination. The Palate starts with slight notes of hops and fruits such as pineapple, some notes of pear and apple reminiscent of Calvados. The whiskey has as long, warm, and intense finish where the flavors of fruits and brown sugar predominate the back of the mouth.
Wild Atlantic Rechar Barrel is a blend of Grain Irish Whiskey matured in a re-charred, mature oak barrel and Malt Irish Whiskey matured in an ex-port oak barrel. Wild Atlantic Rechar Barrel won Gold in the 2022 San Francsico World Spirits Competition in 2022. Wild Atlantic Rechar Barrel is 80 proof, with an intense dark brown color, reminiscent of the color of Cognac. The Nose carries aromas of toffee, caramel with some notes of ripe red fruit such as blackberries and raspberries. The Palate begins with slight sweet notes such as marzipan, followed by the typical flavors of port, filling the mouth, and touches of spices at the end. The whiskey has a long, warm, and clean finish where sweet flavors and aromas such as sugar and caramel predominate.
But while the taste and the experience of Wild Atlantic is distinctive, the quality of the product isn’t reflected in the price tag. At only $23.99 for a 750ml bottle, it’s hard to argue against giving the whiskey a solid taste test. In fact, taking the price and the product into consideration, it’s easy to see why Wild Atlantic may very well become one of the most popular Irish Whiskeys in the area. But, keep in mind, Wild Atlantic is only available at Micky Finn’s. So, if you want to try it out, you’ll need to stop by one of the stores’ three locations in Florence, SC to find a bottle. |
