Bob Dylan's Heaven's Door Private Barrel Available Exclusively At Micky Finn's

The minute I heard about Bob Dylan’s venture with Spirits Investment Partnership, I wanted to try Heaven’s Door Whiskey. Admittedly, my desire to try the product was more out of interest in Dylan’s music than the whiskey itself. But, I also love a good whiskey, so it was automatically a win-win if the whiskey itself turned out to be well-made.

When I finally got the opportunity to try Heaven’s Door “Revelation,” I was more than pleasantly surprised. In fact, I wrote a review of “Revelation” which you can read here.

For those who are not aware of the story of Heaven's Door whiskey, BreakingBourbon.com writes,

Heaven's Door Spirits is a collaboration between legendary artist Bob Dylan and Spirits Investment Partnership ("SIP"). Bob Dylan's first and only brand partnership, Heaven's Door is aimed to be an ever-evolving portfolio of handcrafted whiskeys in collaboration with different master distillers and blenders from across the country. According to the company's press release, Marc Bushala, CEO of SIP said "Rather than make a single whiskey or work with one master distiller, we thought it would be far more interesting to work with various master distillers and blenders to make whiskeys that would each have their own unique signature."

The company's initial trilogy of releases includes a Straight Tennessee Bourbon, a Double Barrel Whiskey, and a Straight Rye Whiskey, finished in "Cigar" Barrels from Vosges, France. Heaven's Door Double Barrel Whiskey consists of a combination of three different whiskeys that are blended together and finished in hand toasted new American oak barrels for an additional year. Heaven's Door inaugural releases were created by Ryan Perry of Heaven's Door Spirits and master distiller Jordan Via, formerly of the Breckenridge Distillery.

However, whether you’re a fan of Bob Dylan or just a fan of whiskey in general, Micky Finn’s has a new product that will interest you.

On May 19, Micky Finn’s announced it’s own private barrel of Heaven’s Door. In other words, this particular barrel of Heaven’s Door will be available only at Micky Finn’s [Micky Finn’s Liquor and Beverage Warehouse - the location across from Buc-cee’s off I-95 (3035 Dr. Johnny Bruce Rd., Florence, SC, 29506: 843-317-9435)]. So, once that barrel has been sold, it will never be available again, making this particular barrel a once-in-a-lifetime offer.

Collectors of Bob Dylan-related merchandise and those of rare whiskeys will both be pleased at this offering. However, while collecting is one attractive option, you don’t want to deprive yourself of the opportunity to taste this amazing whiskey.

The new Heaven’s Door Micky Finn’s Barrel pick is Single Barrel Select and Cask Strength at 113.4 proof.

As Heaven’s Door states, “Our annual Single Barrel Select release offers a limited allocation of barrels, each hand-selected by our Master Distiller and refined with a distinctive secondary finish.”

The Heaven’s Door Micky Finn’s Barrel Pick mashbill is 78% corn, 13% Rye, and 9% Barley. Distilled in Kentucky, with a Toasted Oak Finish, and #4 char.

Heaven’s Door Micky Finn’s Barrel Pick is one of the best whiskeys I have personally had the opportunity to sample. This particular barrel incorporates all of the important signature elements of the nationally available product with a notably smoother, sweet flavor and smooth finish.
